ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED JUNE 22, 2019 Welcome back to 13East Entertainment's own insider webazine about all things 13EE! Once again we cannot believe how sudden rotations to 13EE is churning to quick yearly ends. It seemed as though we just began the year with planning and suddenly, the year wisked by on a cold shallow breeze. When you are striving, you never tend to notice the steps taken to equal your mile. Successess achieved sometimes commendeer as insurmounable hoopla when you first begin. But, baby steps leads to mountains when you look back and collect the steps taken. With that being said, never give up. If your Picasso can only be drawn one squiggle at a time, then so be it. Eventually, with determination and focus it will lead to your greatness. The one lesson that can be learned in this issue, is to have faith in yourself and the things you do when some opportunities arrive. Here at 13EE, we gladly express the word "some" because not all opportuniities are good opportunities. This is a widely used statement when either handeling affairs of business or teaching others how to thrive within opportunities provided. With this being said, some of the opportunities presented to 13EE gave us a push in expansion. Admittingly we were not quite ready to handle the opportunity on offer, however where there is a WILL there is a WAY. When the logistics were finally panned out, we were excited to expand and update many of the 13EE's departments. Ms. V's personal efforts in other things were more than inspiring for those who watched throughout the winter months on Youtube or Instagram. Snippets and insiders peeks are posted before our full tea spillage every quarter. So as always, we welcome you back and we are seriously excited to reveal to you all in full an insider peak of Winter footprints from 13East Entertainment. Pictureof VS Nesby Author of 13Kings series, Owner of VS Nesby, LLC , 13East Entertainment and it's affiliate networks. *** Talent and Sponsorships: 13East Entertainment closed off 2018 entrenched within a stew of beautiful beginnings. The beginning of the 2018 year seemed to have kicked off with a slow lag but eventually turned itself around. Spring of 2018 flipped 13EE into a year chalked full of adventure and knowledge. When we arrived back from the sites of Island hopping, we decided to use the inspiration given from the islands and kick it up a notch with redirecting our purpose. When things began to push in the right direction, a devastating blow occurred to Ms. V just before the onset of winter. The bad news blew the fire out of the embers here at 13EE and just left smoldering soot to burn in its own ashes. Ms. V was not the same after receiving such an emotional hit. After a few long months of darkness, her assistance was requested by a group of little girls in Michigan from Lake Orion High School. Ms. V was asked to assist an after school program started by 2 teenage girls and pushed by the Cultural Director, Michelle Cureton. It was explained in great lengths as to how the opportunity would benefit the students. How the opportunity could push them towards other opportunities or at least create a stable foundation for them to enjoy for the winter to summer season. 13East Entertainment could see that the participating kids needed help and was definitely surprised by the request. Despite her mental state and emotional turmoil, Ms. V sluggishly participated in it's first after school sponsorship towards a after school program. The kids who chose to participate were upon the grades from Freshman to Senior. The program ran for about 7 months, beginning December and lasting to the first week in June. Activity and dedication allowed them to feature in their very own video shoot and multiple performances. The program is a step team consisting of ocular, otolary and rythmetic movements created by HBCU's (Historic Black College or University) as far back as 1906 and evolved in 1908. This is a representation of HBCU and its Frat and Sorority members drawn by @Miss_Aye22 Looking back, the opportunities presented to the children that chose to participate had been phenomenal. They were able to learn a series of life lessons in such a short period. They were taught "No sponsorship comes for free." It was clear that uniforms and financial backing was needed, and Ms. V just "springing" for it was not going to happen from any involved participating party. Explanations of hard work and dedication was provided. Involved discussions on what is economic development and hustling while knowing the difference between them. Explanations of value and purpose is always needed for the youth to comprehend, "If you want it, put in the motion to get it." What it really meant for connecting: themselves with developing a purpose (a hustle) in order to achieve the ending goals. "If someone is willing to sponsor the base of what you want, then you have to push within self to find the drive and motivation to reach the goal needing to be obtained," -VS. This discussion was necessary for the opportunities coming up. Valentines Day was the perfect opportunity for the team to show their drive in economics. Luckily they were listening. With a little team effort and some creativity, the development of "Boo Bags" were created. School teens had access to provide their 'in love' counterparts candy bags either from them or through special delivery. The Dragon Maze Steppers, along with myself were able to show some amazing store-front flare when it came time to selling! Due to some team effort and their hustle, they were able to assist with their portion of the proceeds for their very own set of uniforms, 13EE and PeterPaul Foundation Of Oakland were able to assist with the rest. Over the course of these 7 months these girls have learned dedication, discipline, creativity, matching desire to achieving end results, ambition, loyalty, increased hand and eye coordination, increased otolary development and establishing confidence. All things that are at the heart of Step. It is such a hard time being a teen and learning yourself and the world around it. To push such a needed development is fundamental at this time in life. It was unfortunate the mounting disrespect supplied by others towards this team. The positivity the team upheld outside of it was phenomenal. It was unfortunate that the times recalled the 1965 school integration issues. The children that were humble and excited to progress in their own community were now forced to see indifference and opposition. It was their peers who suddenly taught them a totally different view of another race before the classes began. It was extremely disheartening to be involved in or watch. The fact that I was called upon to protect the rights of children left a sour taste in my mouth beyond measures, but I did what I had to do without hesitation. However, the disrespect will be acknowledged and discussed publicly or politically when the time comes. As for now, we appreciate those who chose to participate in the teams activities and the relationships created along the way. We hope to establish more viable relationships in the future while gaining a slow expansion amongst multiple communities. We definitely appreciate YOU, the 13EE fans for watching those Youtube videos! The more you watch, the more you have continued to assist others within, around and close to your community. It was due to those kids that for springing life back into Ms. V. She may not be fully at herself, but at least some of her WILL has returned. *** *** Update My concerns with the school were acknowledged. The acts of those involved were dismissed based on improper representation of schooling. There were quite a few staff that were let go and some changes were made. The scarring left on the children involved had an effect but the swift, non tolerant actions of the school after completion was impressive. Although my first experiences were met with a few challenges overall it was an extreme success. I do expect to expand this concept at one point. To teach kids history, discipline, goals, culture and other ways to over come their aggression by creating art was a bit of wholesomeness that I needed just as much as the kids did. We Are 40! Sponsorship: In the beginnings of December, 13EE's PeterPaul Foundation was thrilled by being actively involved with assisting various children around the United States and it's territories. The United States has suffered tremendous hits as soon as the year began. Puerto Rico has suffered as a Territory as a whole, soon followed the destruction in other states, drought and then enforced notions by our nations leaders causing dismay within homes. Envisioning the plight of our youth, 13EE and our company's charitable foundation wanted to do something amongst those we could assist. It was a brand new year and nothing brings a feeling of change like having someone care for you without cause or reason. Even though we may be a small network, we could still try to put smiles on the little ones of those who chose to contact us. Our goal was to supply 40 random children across the United States a new outfit from a clothing store. Again, we are a small company and the goal seemed a bit far fetched at first but in the end it came to show that nothing was impossible. 13EE and PPFO was able to gather 47 outfits for boys and girls. Supplies are limited and based on a first come, first serve basis. Sizes ranging from 12 months to 5T in boys and girls and we hope to distribute them accordingly. Limit 1 outfit per child. As a foundation of 13EE, PeterPaul Foundation of Oakland try to maneuver new developments in innovative tactics to assist those in need. We hope to inspire others by thinking outside of the box. This is our 2nd successful event and plan to do more in the years to come. Thank you to all of those who have participated and I hope the children adore the outfits provided. HURRY a limited supply is still left for boys and girls. Quickly claim!!! No games, no gimmicks, no sign-ups. First come, first served. https://youtu.be/koeIvr6OdFU *** **Update Due to Covidwe chose not to risk providing any harm. So V. decided to cancel the campaign during the 2020 season. However Spring of 2021 the campaign will begin and hope to see people ready to participate on the PeterPaul Foundation of Oakland Facebook pages. Sometimes with growth comes small tweaks and changes needed to enhance the brand and separate departments. Due to this, the main brand has it's own logo. It is in shape of a red colored wild cat merged with a shield, which is currently copy written and being processed for Trademark. Each department under 13East Entertainment went through a new look with the infamous Ms. V icon. To view some of the currently released icons, please view them on 13East_Entertainment Instagram page. New icons will be put in place of one icon establishing the branches and their merits under the 13East Entertainment brand. Once the new designs were completed, Ms. V felt obligated to come to reality that this company is here-here! So she settled down and quickly threw together just one of many more 13East Entertainment flyby and professional websites to come. This website was launched just before New Years Eve of 2018. After that much development breaking in the New Year was not as important as breaking in a nap. Visit vsnesbyinc.yahoosites.com today! *** Heeyyy..? What happened to New Years Eve!? Yes...yes...we have heard the questions. What ever happened to the infamous New Year's Eve celebration filmings hosted somewhere in the lands of the drunk? What happened to the NYEBO (New Years Eve BlowOut) artist competition? Well, let me be the first to tell you guys that you have to play to win. No one played along, so no one get the free promotion for 1 year or worldwide music push. Since this is our 2nd consecutive year of non participation, V chose to cancel future promotions for this category. The links will remain open for those willing to participate, however the time and funding behind the yearly competition will no longer be distributed. As for the NYE partying, Ms. V's youngest princess requested to break in the New Year with Ms. V. (Heart tugs) Based upon the request made, all arrangements were put on hold until after the new year. A small celebration was held with grape juice champaign, party hats, hors d' oeuvres and smiles. It was a new way to break in the new year but it stayed smiles all around. For a sneak peak into the new year with Ms. V and her family, click the link below: https://www.instagram.com/p/BsGPiThHSmE/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=dxehnjzj7xkw It's party time! The new year kicked itself into a new gear! January spared no expense when calling V out to enjoy her birthday and birthday weekend with various nightclubs. The birthday girl was feeling slightly under the weather but she still showed up to enjoy life and the greetings of many. Shout out to Joe the promoter for the invites. Now sometimes in business, we tend to make mistakes. Despite meticulous planning some times, "shit happens." Unfortunately when planning routes, V planned for proper travel but not proper timing. It was unclear until after advertising that the second location was literally 12 hours away. With previous engagements leading to the opposite direction, it was not going to happen unless she became Flash Gordon over night. There was no way she was going to miss the private invite to Congresswoman's swear in the following morning in Lansing Michigan. (dates and info provided by I.G) There was one unfortunate scheduling conflict on Ms. V's end for the cancellation in Ohio. The fact that she was big enough to apologize personally to PRIME party promoter Rico Law spoke volumes. I hope within the next couple of birthdays, she is able to catch up to them through her growing booking schedule and turn the party upside down. What a night that would be! *** Political Distance: We watched Ms. V as she took on a cause dear to her. We assumed it was personal by the way she rallied for her chosen candidate in a new fashion. We watched her methods as she participated in the congressional elections. We assume there is no one better to tell the story besides Ms. V herself. Hello everyone. VS Nesby here, providing you a basic insight into my position and views upon this political matter. I have found the contradictions to our own laws, structures and integrity slipping a little too far away. This "me..me..gimme..gimme.." mode without accountability was going rapid throughout our nations leaders. I've grown old, I am tired and "so what" just isn't good enough in a land where people would risk their own lives trying to escape to. Looking back, I feel as though we did not appreciate the previous president as much as we should have. Since we are now left in a life of wonder, it left me in a state of procurement. Again, as I have once stated...I am getting old, and I am tired. I usually voice my political views on my personal public Facebook page to sometimes talk "sense" into those in government whom watch after me fondly. I spoke of the outrage towards our citizen dollars and the mishandling of healthcare for those in need. Those of you in the world who follow me fully understand that my health is not of great condition. I do not harp on the matter or speak often, but I have accepted what I cannot change. I have a purpose and I will seek it through. Moving forward, I was more than offended by the mishandling of health choices here in Michigan by our Congressman, Mike Bishop. Voicing this, Mr. Bishop sent me a private email. This is fine. I usually receive emails from individuals looking for point of views without intricate involvement. Unfortunately, this email was rather weak in explanation to manipulate my opinions. It was rather insulting to my mental acuity. Based on this I began to research the oncoming opponents looking to seek the Congressional seat. There were a couple of candidates that stood out in fashion but it was one that hit a little closer to home. The candidate happened to be female. Let this be clear, I did not choose this candidate based on sex. Her credentials as a candidate is what had my attention as well as the connection that served her purpose. The lady's name happened to be Alissa Slotkin. She was a farm girl who worked to obtain a position within the CIA. Her mother died of cancer and she could relate to a struggle of an ailing loved one. She was able to witness the endless shuffles of paperwork with insurance companies and the lack of assistance through medication. There are a lot of people suffering to pay medical bills let alone home-life bills. So I could hella relate to her back story, her cause, her truth and her ambitions. Based on this I chose to back her in her runnings. I kept close watch of her from a distance. I watched her be simply "normal". The struggle of finance for a campaign, watcing her emotions as people doubted her drive, seeing her apponents mock her gaul and audacity. She was real. She openely joked about the "he's my man", to other hot mommas checking out her husband during the campaign runs. Yeah, I enjoyed her as a normal being. So I went on a root for her. I made ads without her knowledge and solely for selfish reasons to make sure the people in my state were aware of her. She was worthy of the position she was seeking and I was determined in innovative ways to assist. I later happened to be privately invited to various private locations holding her events. Some were held in mansions, estates or venues but it was nice seeing everyone come together and root for a singular cause for the better in healthcare and structure within our government. After a few invites and some hard work, Alissa Slotkin had finally made it to the winners circle. Alissa Slotkin had beat the favorite Mike Bishop in the state of Michigan for the 8th District Congressional Seat. And guess who was invited to the State version of the swear-in! Yes, I truly enjoyed the invite and the opportunities available to be a part of an event such as this. J.W. Sexton High School Choir. I enjoyed watching the State version and seeing the beauty in Debbie Stabenow's hair. When I say: "momma was fierce! Oooh chile, you shoulda been there. Hunty was flawless when she swore in Alissa Slotkin...again for the second time..into her Congressional position." It was a delight to see and honored to partake in. I won't say I felt accomplished. I didn't feel like a huge winner or advocate for justice. Because at the end of the day, I pushed for someone to lose their job. Someone who had a family. However, I felt as though greed lead him to his decisions and his one family was not worth the health of millions of others. In the end, I do feel as though the shit needed to be done. I as a citizen, employ the government and if we are not getting good results based on my dollars, than I as an American citizen will find someone who can with efficiency. May this decision reap better opportunities for us as a whole and may she do well within her position, or we will continue to seek others more qualified. As for now, Congratulations to Mrs. Alissa Slotkin. Expanding our eclectic network to completion. The names were selected for future development. Persia's Palace is the beauty department of EastWear13.com. Persia's Palace provides the right collab for the 13EE family to invest in natural and fine beauty products for the girl who wants to floss by lesser cost. It is a slow development but nothing in life is worth having when rushed. Unfortunately this is only in planning stages, but I can imagine the smell of my recipe's flavor flowing out of the door. With this concept being so "out of the box", the questioning behind this was well, why? I hope the stages of this will occur somewhere near Summer 2022. Despite all of this newness... the light shiner of the new businesses forming with the 13East Entertainment family is the raw, uncut, spit talking, sports talk division. This anticipated concept has been on the backburner, sizzling, awaiting for Ms. V to find the right suitor and guide them into a world of producing the truth spoken about sports, games and reviews that will keep its audiences on the edge! All pictures and Logo's displayed are purchased, copy written, owned by VS Nesby LLC. *** The first couple months seemed to have pressed hard with insecurity in being able to find the right type of manicurist who fit V's style. For whatever reason in particular parts of each city, innovation and creativity have seemed to stunt many nail salons growth. V has a long fixation with art and she enjoys for her hands to reflect that. She was almost ready to quit the nail game and cut her enforced beauties down to nubs. With it being the Christmas season and her already not feeling the christmas time spirit due to her loss, you could tell that she had enough by February until a magical nail fairy had come to rescue her in her deepest time in need. Unfortnately, you are stuck seeing the best nail choices for Dec., Jan and Feb until the next issue of EBN and you can witness the biggest come-back in nail history! Digital Love: February *** With the nails already being a disappointment in the winter months the shoe game seemed to have made the digs a little worse. Every hype shoe that dropped did not come in smaller sizes which left V hurt, bitchy and unwilling to view other options. Eventually a shoe had dropped that stopped creativity in it's tracks. Finally she felt connected with a shoe and it was shocking to see she found them in the women's section..lol. #nike Night Out with V: Call it international affairs or call it united nations, however you call it just know we had a blast! There is nothing like having an eclectic group to enjoy the night with. Ms. V had a great time in Detroit as she celebrated a quiet achievement with friends. Nothing needs to be explained in this bathroom pic people...just go with it..lol. Charity: Never forget how your charitable donations helps many push through a hard life. We don't just provide money to those we assist, we try to provide a solution to kill or minimize an unfortunate cycle. Our original long term goal is to assist the village of Amizmiz with reading and open channels to a strong work ethic. While doing this we can assist those within our proximity with their needs. We are quite determined to meet our short goals until we can conquer our long term goals.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED DECEMBER 17, 2018 Welcome back to 13East Entertainment's own quarterly webazine, The East Beast News! There has been a lot of activity this Fall season. None of which we had quite expected to deal with wether good nor bad. The cycles of life had really taken VS Nesby and her manifestations for a spin this season. She tries to keep her structures afloat but it is clear she will need some time to heal from her version of life's challenges. She is still in running force however, it will take time before we can get the good ole' V. back. TRAVEL: KEY WEST TOMBS As viewed in our previous East Beast News, Summer 2018 issue, you've seen the beauty of the Bahama Islands and the Florida Keys. You joined us as we took in the joy of acknowledging various styles of life. However the trip was not purely for fun and games. Besides the symbolic experience Ms. V had felt in her life goals, it was also a time to walk in the shoes that once brought to mind the tragedies of the past. It was to bring a reality check as we climb and wrangle the mountains to our dreams. To show meaning of the cultral mileage brought forth at that moment compared to how it all began in the first place. Ms. V made it clear this trip was necessary, either to pay homage or to show appreciation. Key West Florida's Higgs Beach played a crucial role in the Transatlantic slave trade. A cemetary rests right upon the beach and happens to be the only known refugee cemetary in the U.S. Let's be clear, these were African refugees, not slaves! The story unfolds of the U.S Navy capturing three (3) American-owned slave ships that were captured near the coast of Cuba. The Africans were then brought to Key West Florida as a sancutary. The story has it that the Navy rescued more than 1,400 men, women and children from that mission. Housing and hospitals were built along the island to assist the refugees. Most refugees were returned to Africa, but almost 300 died from slave ship conditions. They were burried along the shore of the island and then forgotten for many years. One day a story surfaced in regards to this history and Dr. Lawrence Conyers was called. He took on the project and soon after, discovered graves. The ground was reconsecrated by island priests and African Shaman. Since the discovery of the first grave, hundreds of other graves were discovered. The colorful flooring lays out the maritime slave route. If you notice the decorative tiles on the side of the monument, it tells the story of what happened during that time. The fact that they gave a proper burial to those that were forgotten and then finalized the burial appropriately from a real African Shaman spoke volumes in the respect that it was given. Key West does not hide the horror that occurred and they give proper respects to those left in the middle or became ill. I think I spent well over an hour in this one spot. Again, I was fascinated by the respect given as well as the history it provided by native tongue. I instantly felt a sense of appreciation to those on the island. I never knew of such a grave monument towards the African American people nor had I ever heard of the privates that were involved. This monument fulfilled answers to questions that I had swimming in my brain for years. But now it left open to new questions that I never even fathomed before. *** As you've seen above, there are pedestals surrounding the grave monument. Now I do not feel comfortable walking on the graves of the dead but I just had to see what the pedestals represented. Hell, I did not expect to come across a slave monument while island hopping but I damn sure was going to be nosey to the messages that may have an effect towards the bloodlines. Each pedistal surrounding the grave site is topped with a bronze plaque and dressed with a Adinkra symbol. "The symbols on these columns are known as Adinkra (or edinkra), and originate in Ghana, West Africa, where the Atlantic "slave trade" began. Each symbol stands for a proverb or idea. They are traditionally stamped onto clothes in rhythmic patterns. Adinkra means "farewell," and the clothes were originally worn at funerals (red for younger people and white for elders). Although these symbols are traditionally associated with death, they also represent new beginnings." **
So so many more to read from: GYE NYAME "Except God" Also translate as "Unless God," "Be but for God" or "Only God." Aproverb states, "I fear nothing in the universe, except God. **** The most popular adinkra symbol, representing the supremacy and omnipotence of God. ** MATE MASIE "What I hear I keep," "I have listened, and I have learned." Symbols of Knowledge, Wisdom and Prudence **** There are lessons to be learned from every experience in life. "Even when the fool speaks, the wise person listens." (African Proverb) In spite of the all the horrors they endured, the captives aboard the three ships learned and kept valuable lessons from their survival. ** OSRAM The Moon "The moon does not hasten on its way around the world." Symbol of Steadiness, Peace and Patience **** "This too will pass." A reminder that patience is required in awaiting any outcome. It is necessary to know that everything must run its course in Divine time. Even the nightmare of the Middle Passage and slavery had to end in its due time, but it was necessary to remain strong, resistant andbe patient throughout its duration. I dont know about you, but do you remember seeing this symbol? It is patterend through out Egypt writings/ drawings as head pieces but also in other places throughout the country and writings. ** NYAME BIRIBI WO SORO "God, I know there is something in the heavens." Symbol of Hope and Faith **** Even in the worst of circumstances, God is always there. This timeless knowledge has preserved in an African American gospel song, "....Up above my head, I hear music in the air, Up above my head, there's a heaven somewhere,". and in a wise Brazilian proverb: "Don't tell God that you have a great problem, Tell your problem that you have a great God." ** I wanted to recognize the past in order to understand where it is that I am meant to go." She went on to say, "I do not know why, but in time, I'll understand." This meaning identified gallantly with "sometimes you might not know where you going until you can understand where you've been," with the reference underlying her own sense within culture. She had been on a mission to build and it was not until recently she had finally been able to visualize the full course of her direction. To see where faith has lead her was symbolic and appropriate for the moment. The beginning story of the tile monument was pretty simple in its explanation. The beginning was the various tribes in Africa have all came from one place. However different, they all were connected despite differences in tribes, they had respect for each others way of life. There was once peace regardless of shade or tribe within the land. From the Albino to the Darkest shade, everyone was at one with peace until a clash of indifference had sparked change and uprooted those from their homes. These persons were considered ghosts/ or pirates. And whomever went with them were forever bound and chained. These pirates helped enslave many and an uncounted many were shipped throughout the globe to forever be displaced from their natural homes. Despite the pain, the displaced are all connected by heart. These synchronized hearts of the displaced from their lands will provide lessons that will establish new roots throughout global lands for eternity. **** START WITH FALL SEASON As soon as the Fall season began 13East Entertainment was on a roll! A lot has been accomplished this season and a lot has been lost as well. However, the knowledge that has been gained behind each and every event has given birth to new inspirations leading to establishing platforms and creations that will hopefully make life a little more sustainable in the future. Ms. V has been very active throughout the fall months and noticed how societies adopted needs are in need of an upgrade. She started the Fall activities with many questions and found it astounishing how many answers came pouring in with each step she took to learn the true inside works of the activities she chose to take on. Ms. V gladly released her latest childrens story called "The Mouse and The Cheese". This story takes place with two mice and teaches children their roles in responsibility. It is ok to relax every once in a while however, it is sometimes detrimental to fulfill requirements within their lives in order to move along life a little easier. This story and all other stories are happily hosted on Wattpad and soon, BookSprout. For those of you who do not know, fashion Nova is a online clothing store that supplies good fit and good quality for decent prices. Vote..Vote..VoteNot everything done is in regard to Entertainment. 13East Entertainment has deep beliefs in the structure of man kinds whole being. However the company as a whole do not participate in politics. Ms. V is an individual with individual passions and she decided to get involved this election due to her believing that she needed to take a stand for the people. She was concerned with the nation not waking up and identifying what we the people were losing. There is a fight amongst us devouring what is right. An imbalance of selfishness and greed was overtaking our rights as a people and it was sweeping through the lands. Instead of idling, Ms. V used her rights as a citizen to obtain personal involvement while documenting her participation. She did some review before selecting a candidate to stand behind. She felt like she struck gold with someone with realistic experiences. When she came across a individual who knew the affects of a government decision, she knew she found the one to realistically stand behind. The candidate went by the name of Alissa Slotkin. "I will say that this was an experience. I felt as though something extremely important was just out hanging on a limb for the people in my district. I've had the pleasure of attending certain events like private Congressional brunch while meeting people who are deeply rooted into their cause like the members of the NOW organization." View On Alissa Slotkin- "Very dedicated woman. She is just as inspired with the message as the rest of the country should be. We The People, come first!" -VS Alissa's pre-election organization meeting was in Oxford, Mi. Ms. V showed footage and it was nice to see people help stand behind someone with a real message and not using a political platform for personal gain. She stood strong in her message as she traveled city to city through out the State and her worth shined beyond doubts. Ms. V stayed strong as she pushed through to voters and adversity in her own way... until the final night came. Election night was a long and brutal fight, however the people was heard, and made history within the State. In the end, the effort was worth it. Mrs. Slotkin won her position holding the elected government seat. She represented so many of us as the people who's lives were drowned-out by greed. Those we elect, those whom we chose to take care of us, have been taking advantage of their positions and chose to exclude us from what is still "We The People." I am proud we have come together as a State, I am proud other States have followed suit and one day we shall take back our control as a nation. To get a peace of Mrs. Slotkins message, watch it here: (youll need headphones tho...oops) https://youtu.be/qrTk4FxpUt8 *Message: Losing someone is a very hard to deal with. I have lost so many but I have never felt the long standing pain and hurt that I have recently felt when losing the one person I never would have assumed to lose. Its been months and it still hurts like it did yesterday. A disturbance was set. I held it well publicly, however this pain won't calm. My soul is sad. This was not a typical loss. We had been each other rock and bridge for ages. We connected fast as hell in the 5th grade. She as like the other half of me. She understood me, exactly how I felt and everything sometimes before I could even speak it. It was great especially when you felt surrounded around people with no real sense of self, smarts and adventure. She was my twin, my best bud, my compadre'. Back then I sacrificed myself so she could go to college. I graduated a year early with the possibility of graduating 2 years ahead. Her mom's health started to fail and she felt trapped. My family let me down with documentation with my scholarship, so I moved in to help out. I knew I was meant to be somewhere and with her uncertainty she was right, she would get stuck. I changed that. I took care of her mom until she passed away, and Janelle graduated to be the only black woman to lead an executive team on Wall Street, New York coming out of the hood, of Prospect in Pontiac, MI. We were very close and things never changed through the years no matter how much time went by. I had children and started had the life she wanted. I tried not bothering her so much but I later realized she thought things changed when they didn't. I felt like she blessed with experiencing family love, friendship and loyalty. We had so many damn adventures, jokes and mishaps growing up it aches to think about it. I almost thought she planned this bullshit because she called me late at night one night and asked me for all of my private information. I asked her what was wrong and she made me swore I wouldn't allow certain things. I swore to her as usual before she hung up in my face. It wasn't until months later she told me made me her everything in contacts. Little sis was dead ass serious. We went on talking -ish, the kids and our love lives and suddenly one morning I got a distorted phone call. another one from officer O'Leary that my heart had passed away. I swear I thought he called the wrong person. He kept echoing my name and I couldn't understand it. Everything was a fog after that. I couldn't function. I lost tons of weight. I tried to move forward with the details she made me remember one year ago and I was intervened by her greedy family. She made a WILL but I had no access. All in all she's not in Pontiac. I suffered for over a year to recover from something that deep. I took care of her mother. Someone who taught me real damn life and confidence and she died. I lost Janelle and I damn near lost it. She never treated me any different, accepted me for who I was and a awesome ass supportive friend. I had images of that movie 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back' and felt sick. I said back then I never waned to feel that feeling when Stella lost her bestie. She's the only one who saw her many shades and transitions. To have had that experience left a fucking whole the size of the galaxy in me. We were supposed to get into trouble once I finished being a mom. I was so damn close and she was taken. The reports said something bogus because she was too physical, however I knew it was Covid. That damn cough she had was relentless and she caught it after flying back from her college alma mater. By march the nation had an extreme outbreak. By may we had a pandemic. The only thing that I was grateful for is that I was able to show her my appreciation before she passed away. I had a personalized Tiffany bracelet made for her over the Spring 2018 and shipped directly from Tiffany themselves. However that was nothing if I had known she was leaving this earth by the fall 2018. Luckily Tiffany keep records and I plan to make a replica of the original I sent to her...just so I can keep something of her that reminds me of her besides these damn scarves that she sent every year with full lectures in the mail because she said "I thought that I was grown"... lol. Damn. Since I never got the final opportunity publicly, I was just wanted to show my appreciation and love one more time. May your wings don't make you chafe and you find peace when you find mom up in heaven. Everyone has updated pictures... The courage she expressed in her music during the times of struggle was not only brave, but absolutely remarkable. She was able to harness her powers and helped with diversity in ways unimaginable. When she paved her way, it allowed for many blacks to be identified within a long-going battle. 13East Entertainment can recognize the struggles of the elders in which have made it easy for blacks as youth to walk without being persecuted. To eat wherever they enjoy dining, to sit where they like on a bus. It is because of the struggles of the elders the reasons why blacks had a NWO who relished in freedom of speach, or could embrace an expressive Tupac Shakur or handle the honesty from Jay-Z without being hung in the towns center for truth. 13EE would like to recognize the strength and leadership of the elders, as well as say thank you for making life just a bit easier so the disadvantaged can be whatever they choose to be in life. Aretha Franklin March 25, 1942 - August 16, 2018 *** E A S T B E A S T N E W S ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 Hello and welcome back to the 13East Entertainment family! We have so much to show you this summer. Once again we tried to bundle-in as much as we possibly can without overwhelming you or the webazine. However, whatever we cannot fit into this Summer 2018 Issue is automatically inserted into the video version of EBN, located on our 13East Entertainment YouTube channel. As you know, 13East Entertainment and its network: EastWear13, Eastern Empire Music and PeterPaul Foundation of Oakland, is just in its baby stages but it appesrs to be moving along pretty well. As the brainchild of author VS Nesby, its beginning blooms is making Ms. V pretty proud to watch flourish. This years EastBeast News is such exciting Issues to share. There is a lot to show and teach along the way and cannot wait to share our exploits as we search for various artists with cultural style around the globe. Our Summer travels continue forward as we extended ourselves to the islands off of the coast of the United States. In this daring Issue, 13East Entertainment touches down in Key West. VS Nesby. KEY WEST As soon as we arrived we were greeted with traditional island sounds by a traditional island greeter. His classic rythm echoed throughout the front of the island as we explored. Cutting through what appeared to be the back of the island we walked to a main street. This beautiful and eye catching building not only happened to have a name, but as you walked past, life sized sculptures caught your eye around the Key West Museum of Art and History to lure you in. Check out the EastBeast News video version on the 13East Entertainment YouTube channel for a visual of the human sized works. As we strolled through the crowded, tourist infected island our taste buds and sights of the new location were awakened. The day was hot...very hot. We decided to catch some shade at the beach and swim a bit while looking for fresh talent along the way. ![]() Talk about being busy. On such a hot day, so many people were either riding the fairy tour bus, rented bikes or electric scooters. Most stayed close to the shopping area...but you know V...she's the average Dora. She explored all parts of the island while the rest of us just wanted a fan and a freezy pop. Besides this pic being epically funny to Ms. V, the beauty was so eye catching. Pictured here is the Truman Annex. A neighborhood and military installation. the white paint was definately the eye catcher as you walked past to either gauk or position yourself for a tour. Harry S. Truman Little White House is a State Heritage Landmark. It is where Truman spent 175 days during 11 visits to the Annex. Oh My Gosh aren't they just LOVE! These beauties popped right through the lense and I was more than thankful to share the beauty with you all. As we continued on searching for the beach or at least some shade and an icee, we came across a very monumental monument. Picture of the conch blowing greeter is a monument to eternalize Albert Kee, the unofficial, goodwill ambassador of Key West. He stands right next to the other offbeat monument located the most southern part of the United States which is exactly 90 miles to Cuba.
This is the Casa Cayo Hueso. Home of the first international phone call. And where was the first international call made to....? If you guessed Cuba, then once again, you are correct-o-mungo!
We kept it trucking, dying of dehydration yet determined to find the beach that Ms. V remember everyone speaking so highly of in the 1980's on The Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous. yeah..yeah she knew she was quite a few decades and some yeaars off. None the less, she still remembered and was determined to view it just to say, "YES, I have conquered a bucket list item!" She has come a long way from being just a little german girl who barely spoke any english and lacked knowledge. The calmed smile she placed on her face displayed her peace. She didn't speak much during the trip and now I understand why. It was like a calming. A small celebration within her of pride. Even I had to take a step back when she quietly explained the importance to create a moment, or even "something" so magnificent. A single parent, hard working and determined to achieve the things she felt she is owed. Due to Ms. V's efforts, her daughters were able to stand in the Atlantic ocean and "kick their feet." Ms. V stood proud that something so small gave her the largest impact of satisfaction. I started to witness her eyes water but then she snapped out of her memories and regained her strength. The quick whisper that she released from her lips "I never thought," followed by the moment of silence, released a very powerful moment. She began to smile more after this. After the forever beach explorations Ms. V stumbled upon what appeared to be a small hut. She adventured in (of course) and fell upon Fort West Martello. The Key West Garden Club holds down the fort with maintenance and restoration in an effort to keep the tradition going. They have done an impeccable job restoring the gardens after the 2017 Hurricane. If anyone wanted more information I made sure to zoom in for you to read the history but also expose the website if anyone was further interested. Small donations are allowed and collected in a small wooden box upon your exit however the general admission is free. I again zoomed in and tried to show everyone the pictures that they displayed showing their efforts. They wanted to show everyone what it all looked like before the 2017 hurricane, the devastation caused by the hurricane and then the final pictures of what they have done in clean up thus far. The Martello Gardens are absolutely stunning. It almost felt like you were transported into a Eden full of life and bliss. The garden sits right on the the Ocean's Gulf and shimmers under the sunlight, however the main focus was the swifty Gecko's that scurried along the tree's. Even though two videos were taped here, Ms. V is a city girl with a country heart...which means as soon as she saw Gecko's she was fascinated but she ran the hell out of there after the lizards went on a sprint. The group was definitely planning on returning back to the cabin for a much needed nap but the kids put Ms.V on rest restriction. She was to return her lameness back to the store and mingle with more people before hitting the main lands. You could see the attitude on the bosses face as she looked through her scheduled itinerary and came across a very pleasant name.
His originality and smoothness between topics was worth the time spent to enjoy on a late night. You guys, if you never heard of him, google and watch a stand up or two, then go visit his shows. He's pretty funny. 13EE usually record snippets of comedy shows, but due to such a large summer issue, Ms.V felt as though a snippet wasn't needed at this time...which is unfortunate because the more of you getting to see and watch who he is, the more of you would most likely go see a show. But as we grow, the more we know! We'll catch him again and next time we'll be prepared to record his works. Having a few jokes with the guys and before I knew it, I should "LOOK BACK AT IT" and you can tell the 2 that were paying attention. The fella's struck a GQ pose so quick! Lol. TALENT: The return back was a bit less stressful due to no time restraints. So it was kind of lax. Besides traveling to recruit worldly sounds unheard or barely know in the U.S, our New Years Eve BlowOut WINNER, BUMPY103 was having a whirl on the scenes himself. Besides Ms. V representing him to others across the scenes, he became a definite topic amongst the SOCME(social media) arena. His artistry and masterful skill has been highlighted by major beams @AllRiseNation, Rhythm Rave Radio, WINDCRadio, @RappersIQ and several shows throughout the summer but Sip Slow Sunday in July 2018 is THE spot that gave him his opportunity to kill the mic his way! BUMPY103 presented his new song "Why..." and made sure people could remember his name!
While his music has a definate 60% lead in the 13EE charts, no one has had the audacity to compare themselves to the champ. BUMPY103 is featured here standing strong on his vacation to San Juan, Puerto Rico. He forged an escape over to the other U.S Islands to enjoy his birthday celebration after a summer of hard work and dedication. He mixed, mingled and did some mild networking while gaining one hell of a tan. I hope you enjoyed your birthday champ! ** As you all know since we hit the islands this year, it was only right for us to make sure we could provide the musical flavor to represent it! These new musical features showcase the King of Junkapop's diverse sound and rhythm-bop that only the islands can provide. We watched the King of Junkapop work his magic to fulfill his ambitions through his lense. 13EE really enjoy his music and hope to continue other ventures in the future. Whewh....all this heat can only be provided by the one and the only EastBeast News! Dont forget... https://t.co/5DduY6KXAG CLASSIC: As you know, the summer in the not-so-great-weathered-states is when everyone begins to show off their beloved classic cars. Aren't they just loverly! 13East Entertainment has tried to catch up with the many automotive events breaking off this summer like we displayed below: A beautiful morning: https://youtu.be/NY4iXDOYLv0 ![]() However an unfortunate incident had occurred that had brought the company and it's ambitions to a sad stand still. "This was definitely a sad moment. The sentimental value went above and beyond the norm. R.I.P my friend," -VS Nesby (update) Now to any sad bi- they wouldn't understand. I worked, earned, put effort towards everything I own. So when a G die, you gotta recognize it. I moved whole ass living rooms with this piece. We drove all over the states and she never died. I don't understand why people buy new cars just to drive em to hell... I'd rather save the miles on the new and wear the hell out of something worth its value in loyalty miles. I could depend on this car more than I could depend on a man... Now aint that some shit!? I always had a soft spot for classics. This was my first Buick and I fell hard. Reminded me like the 87' Crown Vic by Ford. Just sturdy and priceless! DIGITAL LOVE: Ms. V seemed to unknowingly created a theme for herself this summer as she wore various colors of pink! The range within the color pink was extraordinary so she fixed her digital palette to embrace the out of season color. Despite it being out of her norm, she rocked it with these retro designs.
